Composite Sound Insulation Board
Lightweight composite sound insulation board with 9mm MGO, 1mm EPDM damping layer, and 7mm FFB. Achieves 32dB sound reduction. Ideal for residential, hotels, cinemas, and recording studios.
Product Description
SG-C10 Composite Sound Insulation Board is designed according to the transmission characteristics of sound. It consists of 3 layers of materials that are 9+1+7mm each with a total of 17mm thickness.
A damping layer selection of 1mm EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) sandwiched between a layer of 9mm MGO (Magnesium Oxide Board) and 7mm FFB (Formaldehyde-free, Fire-retardant Board).
By combining materials with different masses, stiffness levels, and thicknesses, the system disrupts multiple sound frequencies and increases STC (Sound Transmission Class) performance.

Product Engineering Principle
The SG-C10 utilizes a sophisticated three-layer construction that maximizes sound isolation while maintaining a lightweight profile:
- 9mm MGO (Magnesium Oxide Board) - High-density outer layer provides mass and fire resistance
- 1mm EPDM Damping Layer - Absorbs vibration and disrupts sound transmission
- 7mm FFB (Formaldehyde-free, Fire-retardant Board) - Second layer for enhanced performance and safety
This 9+1+7 configuration effectively disrupts multiple sound frequencies, making it ideal for applications where both weight and performance matter.
Why Choose SG-C10?
The SG-C10 offers the perfect balance between acoustic performance and practical installation requirements. Its lighter weight makes it ideal for retrofit projects and ceiling applications.
Key Benefits
- Lightweight Design: At 25kg, significantly easier to handle than heavier alternatives
- 32dB Sound Reduction: Excellent sound isolation for privacy and comfort
- Formaldehyde-Free: Safe for residential and healthcare environments
- Fire Retardant: Class A non-combustible for maximum safety
- Versatile Installation: Can be cut with saw, drilled, and secured with self-tapping screws
- Multiple Finish Options: Compatible with wallpaper, glass, tiles, and cement finishes
Technical Innovation
The EPDM damping layer acts as a vibration absorber, converting sound energy into minimal heat energy. Combined with the mass-spring-mass principle of the MGO and FFB layers, this creates superior sound transmission loss.
Installation Methods
SG-C10 can be installed using standard construction methods:
- Direct mounting with self-tapping screws to metal or wood studs
- Adhesive application combined with mechanical fastening
- Framework mounting for suspended ceiling applications
The board can be easily cut to size using standard carpentry tools, making it adaptable to various project requirements.
Recommended Applications
SG-C10 is specifically designed for environments requiring effective sound isolation with weight considerations:
- Hospitality: Hotel rooms, serviced apartments
- Residential: Condominiums, apartments, private homes
- Commercial: Meeting rooms, office partitions
- Entertainment: Cinemas, recording studios
- Healthcare: Clinics, consultation rooms
