Installation &
Mounting Guide

Layer-by-layer assembly specifications for ceiling, wall, and floor acoustic isolation systems.

Installation Principle

Room-in-Room Acoustic Isolation

Professional acoustic isolation uses a room-in-room construction principle — building a mechanically decoupled inner structure that prevents sound transmission through the building fabric.

The fundamental approach combines three layers of defence: vibration dampers to decouple the inner room from the building structure, mineral wool to absorb airborne sound within the cavity, and composite insulation boards to block remaining sound energy through the Mass-Spring-Mass principle.

Every connection point between the inner room and outer structure is a potential sound bridge. Shock dampers, vibration damping mats, and acoustic sealant work together to ensure complete mechanical isolation at every junction.

Key Insight

Doubling the density of a wall only improves sound reduction by approximately 6 dB. This is why a multi-layer system with decoupling, absorption, and mass is far more effective than simply adding more material to a single wall.
